Four Months Later...

It's been very quiet on Blizzard's end. When the trilogy announcement went out, Blizzard left many questions unanswered, and starcraft2.com has had minimal activity, the second-to-last update coming in September of last year. The most recent update is regarding the Dark Templar, a classic and very unique unit from the original StarCraft. The people at Blizzard have come up with two different types of Dark Templar, apparently from different clans - one bearing the typical warp blade from the original StarCraft, the other bearing a double-sided scythe. The cool thing is that Blizzard is giving the players a choice: the details are here. Check it out!

StarCraft II to be Released as a Trilogy!

It was announced a couple of weeks ago that StarCraft II will now be released as a trilogy, with each individual part released as a single player campaign. Although many of the details are unknown about what this means for multiplayer, battle.net, and StarCraft II as a whole, there is a lot of news about this new split. It was also announced that a complete campaign of one of the races would entail about 30 missions, which was a boost from StarCraft's original 10. GiantBomb.com also had a chat with Dustin Bowder, Chris Sigaty, and Bob Colayco, three of the minds behind StarCraft II. The names of the parts of the trilogy that are to be released: "StarCraft II: Wings of Liberty" for the Terran campaign, "StarCraft II: Heart of the Swarm" for the Zerg campaign, and "StarCraft II: Legacy of the Void" for the Protoss campaign.

The Ladder Tournament Continues

Boy, am I sure rusty! After playing another game in the tournament, I was defeated by Chamrin in a hard-fought battle in which he had control of most of the resource points, with myself being squeezed into my original base and being unable to expand. GG, Chamrin. Here's the link to the replay download:

The A(U)SCL Ladder Tournament Has Begun!

After the abysmal results of the "first" tournament, I decided to create a ladder tournament in order to try and get the A(U)SCL off the ground. Well, the first two games of that ladder tournament were played today, in which I, Holierthan_thou, was defeated both times. I'm gonna have to improve some to beat these guys. Anyways, here's the links to the replay downloads:

Batch 44 and "Vespene Laughs"

Karune released a small batch with some of the finer details of the game, from replay statistics to unit portraits. Also, Blizzard has released a comic contest for StarCraft 2, titled "Vespene Laughs," challenging you to create hilarious comics about the new and evolving StarCraft 2 universe. Check it out here!

Update in my Blog About BlizzCast 4

It seems like it's been forever since I've done a post in my blog. I just now wrote quite a bit about Blizzard's fourth BlizzCast here. Check it out!

Another Karune Batch Released

Karune's 43rd batch detailed many things from changing the way some of the units look to a question about the mechanics of a Zerg vs. Zerg game. Karune also mentioned that future batches would be "light" in the future to allow the devs to concentrate on getting the single player campaign done. You can check it out here!

BlizzCast Episode 4 Released!

Blizzard released its fourth podcast episode a couple of days ago, with many details ranging from mineral gathering to the new movement AI to temporary infestation versus permanent infestation. I hope to blog about it all shortly.

Lots of new information in the StarCraft Universe!

New information has been released both by Karune and on starcraft2.com. Information was released about the planet of Mar Sara, and a batch from Karune had interesting information about the Battlecruiser's Missile Barrage and the movement of the Hydralisk through the tiers.
Another bit of news that I regret to share with you is the postponement of the AUSCL StarCraft Tournament. This tournament was having a lot of trouble getting off the ground, so I've decided to postpone it for now, perhaps permanently. What this means is that now may be the opportunity to sign up for any upcoming tournaments at the forum topic.
I know this isn't very recent news, in part because I've been too busy this summer. I'll try to make it up to you guys with some cool new blog posts coming soon.

New information from Karune and on starcraft2.com!

Since I've been gone, I've been unable to update this site about these new happenings. Karune released a new batch (#41) detailing new information about the new vespene geyser mechanic, which I must say is an odd turn of events. Also, information about the Protoss hero Zeratul was released on starcraft2.com on the third of this month. Both of these updates reveal how the game is shaping up.

The A(U)SCL Tournament I Is Underway!

The first game of A(U)SCL Tournament I was played a few days ago. It was a 35 minute battle between the first-seeded Bomb_omb[Z] and his teammate Ratbert[T] taking out bluemanrocks[Z] and his teammate MadFax7[T], MadFax7 being the last to fall. This gives Bomb_omb and his teammate 2 points since both survived. GG!

Planetary Information: Char

Some new information has been released on starcraft2.com regarding the Zerg homeworld of Char, how it came to be settled by the Terrans, and more. Check it out!

New Blog Post!

I noticed that it's been a month today since I've posted something in my blog, so I decided to write about the unit slots that haven't been filled yet in StarCraft 2, and the interesting new role that buildings will play in StarCraft 2. Enjoy!

New Karune Batch (#40)!

Today a new Karune Batch was posted on battle.net. It details additional information about Battlecruisers, Nydus Worms, and more! Enjoy! (As a side note, I've decided to remove the Karune Links on the right side of the page due to a lack of interest)

New BlizzCast (episode 3)!

Just yesterday I discovered a new BlizzCast, episode 3, detailing how the Zerg are coming along, with specific details about the Queen and its dramatic changes, and much more.

New batch from Karune(#39)!

A new "Map Maker Series" was released on battle.net today. It detailed the abilities of the map editor, showing it's immense flexibility and ability to create new hybrid races, mix and match unit abilities, and much more. The link has been added to the Karune Links in the sign up bar. If you would like to receive notifications about when the latest Karune batch is released, you can subscribe to be notified in the "Features" box on the left.

The Baneling Announced!

Official information about the Baneling has been released on StarCraft2.com. The site reports that the Baneling has the ability to burrow, making it quite potent against the enemy. Enjoy!

New Blog Post

I've neglected to post anything in my blog in the past three weeks or so, and I've decided to let you in on some of the Zerg information that I've found out, albeit unofficially, in the time since my last blog post. Anyways, I wrote you guys a big article, so enjoy!

Updated Karune Link (#38)!

The newest Karune batch, number 38, has been added to the Karune links! The links are in the "Features" box, along with a link for subscribing to these batches via email. Enjoy!

A(U)SCL First Tournament Signups Coming to a Close!

I will be closing the signups for our first tournament in two days (that's Tuesday, 05-13, if you didn't know). We'll take as many players as we can get, so sign on up now!

A(U)SCL Tournament?

I have called upon the players in Ambrosia's Unofficial StarCraft League to ask them if they would like to have a tournament. So far the response has been optimistic, so I think the tournament shall go through. Want to play in the tournament? Sign up here!
